Bacchic Concert Print
The Bacchic Concert is an oil on canvas painting, created between 1625-1630 in Rome, Italy.
The artist, Pietro Paolini was heavily influenced by fellow baroque artist, Caravaggio as evidenced by his dramatic use of light and dark in this 17th century painting.
Bacchus, the God of Wine, who is shown here, was known for liberating his followers from their self-conscious fears with his wine, music & festive dancing. This carefree frenzy he so famously induced was commonly known as bakkheia, hence the origin of his name; Bacchus. 17th century or not, he sounds like a great time!
This is a remastered art print of the original painting.
